About Erin

As a therapist, I’m here to co-create a safe space for you to feel, heal, and process everything you need to.

I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with Distinction (MACP) from Yorkville University and am registered as a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC.

Born and raised in Edmonton, I relocated to Vancouver, then to Victoria, to be close to the mountains and the ocean. I love the outdoors and am grateful to live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

The desire to become a therapist began as a whisper that got so loud I could no longer ignore it. My desire became a reality when I made the leap to get my Master's, and my dream to support others in a deep and meaningful way as a therapist has come true. Prior to becoming a therapist, I obtained my Bachelor of Physical Education and Recreation, specializing in Health and Fitness Promotion, and had a 20+ year career working as an Executive Assistant to several Presidents and CEOs in sport, health, and wellness industries.

Sport & Athletics

I am a lifelong athlete and grew up in the world of competitive dance. In school, I found my love of sports (volleyball, basketball, and soccer), and in university, I began running. This led to a 15-year-long journey of training and competitive racing in triathlon and  I have completed six Ironmans and 17 half Ironmans. I understand how to use the mind as a competitive advantage and cultivate mental fortitude. I am passionate about supporting athletes with performance anxiety, injury-related worry, and mental blocks to achieve optimal sports performance and well-being. I can also support you with topics such as “who am I?” outside of being an athlete. Together, we will navigate your concerns, empowering you to move forward with courage and a deep belief in yourself for your training, competitions, and start lines.

Meditation & Mindfulness

I have long appreciated the mind-body connection and began a formal meditation practice as a sports performance strategy in 2011. Through gaining insight into my mind, I experienced many other mindfulness benefits, such as the power of the pause, the ability to respond versus react, question my thoughts, recognize feelings as waves, and increase my compassion for myself and others. My positive experience, plus a desire to learn, led me to obtain a meditation teacher training  certificate to deepen my practice and gain the skills required to guide others. I have extensive experience teaching meditation and mindfulness skills to individuals and groups. Realizing that meditation is but one tool in the toolbox for healing fuelled my desire to further my education and become a therapist. My daily practice continues to remind me to stay conscious, aware, and awake.

Eating disorders / disordered eating & BODY IMAGE

Through my own therapy, I have recovered from disordered eating, and since coming through the other side, I am passionate about helping others heal their relationship with food. I understand how lonely, isolating, and pervasive it can be to struggle with food-related concerns. I have obtained additional education to work with individuals who are willing to challenging the diet mentality by incorporating Radically-Open Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and intuitive eating principles. Recovery from an eating disorder takes hard work; however, recovery is possible, and I am ready to support you along your journey to food freedom and developing a new appreciation for your body.

FOR FUN

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my partner, connecting with friends, reading books, doing puzzles, and listening to 80s and 90's R&B music. I enjoy cycling, running, and tennis, and I continue to race my road bike.
